Six stages that turn strangers into raving fans.
The Perfect Customer Journey, in plain English. Most businesses don't have a marketing problem, they have an order problem. This guide gives you the order.

Sound familiar?
You wince a bit when someone asks for your web address.
You're posting on social but the phone isn't ringing any more than it was.
You've paid for ads, a new website, maybe even an agency, but you couldn't say what any of it actually got you.
Most of your work still comes from word of mouth. Which is great, until it goes quiet and you can't do anything about it.

Marketing without a plan is a jigsaw without the picture on the box.
Most businesses have been sold Random Acts of Marketing.
A post here, some ads there, a new logo when things go quiet, and none of it joins up.
There's a fix for that.
Since 2009 I've worked with hundreds of service businesses. Electricians, engineers, coaches, consultants, fabricators, tutors, you name it. And I kept seeing the same thing. They were brilliant at what they did, but their marketing didn't show it.
The problem was never the effort they were putting in. It was that they'd start five things and finish none of them. They had half-built bridges everywhere, and a half-built bridge gets nobody anywhere. (I wrote about it here, if you want the longer version.)
So I created The Perfect Customer Journey, six simple stages that take a stranger and turn them into a raving fan. Build each bridge properly and marketing stops being confusing. It's what I build everything on, every single day.

Building your business one bridge at a time.

Six stages that turn strangers into raving fans.
This is the order things need to happen in. Most businesses I meet are doing two or three of these, usually not in the right order, and wondering why it isn't working. The ones that grow get all six joined up.
And it's a loop, not a line. Fans come back, and they send new people in.
Learn the full frameworkGet Noticed
The first step of any journey is getting noticed by the right people. If somebody doesn't know you exist, they can't buy from you.
Connect
Getting noticed is great, but if they disappear straight after, what have you actually got? This is where you get their details, so you can stay in touch on your terms.
Engage
Someone giving you their email doesn't mean they trust you yet. This is where you show up, help them out and prove you know your stuff. It's the stage most businesses skip.
Convert
Get the first three right and this bit doesn't feel like selling. You're offering the next step to someone who already trusts you, and chasing the quotes that go quiet.
Deliver & Wow
Doing a good job is the minimum. The wow is the little extra they didn't expect, and it's usually small, cheap and personal. It's where referrals really come from.
Create Fans
Happy customers are your best marketing, but only if you ask. Reviews, referrals and staying in touch after the job, so they're telling everyone about you. It's the other stage most businesses skip.
What I do
Here's what I can help with.
There's usually one thing that'll make the biggest difference first. If you're not sure what that is for you, that's exactly what the free review is for.
Not sure where to start?
One call with me beats twenty tabs of research.
How it fits together

Why work with me
Why clients stay, without a contract making them.
Whatever we end up working on together, this is what you can expect from me.
I'll tell you what you actually need
Even if it's less than what you came to me for. I'd much rather you spent less and got it right than paid me for something that won't help.
You deal with me
From the first chat to the last, it's me you talk to. No account managers, no being passed around, and a straight answer whenever you ask a question.
You own everything I build
Your website, your data, your customer list, it's all yours. There's nothing to keep paying me just to keep it running, and if we ever stop working together, it all keeps working.
No contracts, ever
Anything monthly is rolling. I just ask for 30 days' notice if you want to stop. I'd rather you stayed because it's working, not because you're tied in.
Kind words
Don't take my word for it.
Amazing service, extremely good at what they do. Jamie is genuine, helpful, patient and clearly cares. I cannot recommend this business enough.
Jamie helped me see that my messaging wasn't as clear as it should be. Fresh eyes, straight-talking advice, exactly what I needed.
Jamie went through my website page by page explaining where I'd gone wrong and where I could improve. Everything he suggested was 100% accurate and straight to the point.
Brilliant at pinpointing exactly what's wrong with a website and quickly making it 10x better.
As soon as the website was launched we received a lot more website enquiries. Efficient, easy to work with, and we got the result we wanted. Highly recommended!
We're already seeing a big influx in new leads and sales. We'll be working with him again and would highly recommend him.
Jamie has been so incredibly helpful building out our CRM and email marketing strategy. He's very hands-on and great at explaining how everything works.
What changes
Six months from now.
This is what changes when the Random Acts stop and it all joins up.
Right now
- You'd rather not hand out your web address
- You post when you remember, then go quiet for weeks the moment work picks up
- An enquiry lands at 9am, you spot it at 7pm, and they've already booked someone else
- You're spending money on marketing, but you couldn't honestly tell me what's working
Once it's all joined up
- A website you're proud to send people to, that actually brings in work
- Every enquiry gets a reply straight away, even when you're up a ladder
- Content going out every week, without you having to think about it
- Reviews coming in, because asking for them happens automatically
- You know what's working, so you know where to spend your money
Nothing fancy. Just the right things, done in the right order.

Husband, Dad, Marketing Guy, Average Golfer 🏌️⛳
I've been working with service businesses since 2009. Electricians, engineers, coaches, consultants, clinics, and it's nearly always the same story. They're great at what they do, but their marketing doesn't do them justice.
I'm not an agency. You deal with me from the first conversation to the last, and when a job needs an extra pair of hands I bring in people I've worked with for years.
When I'm not banging on about marketing, I'm a husband, dad and an average golfer convinced this is the year it all clicks...
...it never is. I'm also a Manchester United fan, so I know exactly what it's like watching something with loads of potential underperform for years. The difference is, your marketing's fixable.
Things I'm working on.
Beyond client work: tools, resources and projects I've built.
